TEDx DAIS Youth - Speaker

As the only student speaker for our school’s TEDx event, I spoke on artificial empathy: whether we can ever have robots that simulate human emotions and what implications that could have on our everyday relationships.

With my committee

I was introduced to Model UN in the 7th grade. It was a gateway to debate, public speaking, geopolitics, current affairs and history.

Through MUN, I learnt how to research topics and build my own perspective on them. Having debated issues ranging from Crimean Tatars to molecular nanotechnology for national defense and currency manipulation, I have explored diverse global issues.

MUN taught me how to be a confident communicator. I overcame stage fright, learnt how to organise my thoughts on the spot, and delivered them through persuasive speeches. I also negotiated with others to draft mutually agreeable resolutions.

After being a delegate 20+ times, I have now moved into mentoring other students for MUN as chair for 4 committees. The most fascinating experience has been in the Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, wherein I moderated debate on space debris, space colonization and more!

Amigos in Space was a 5 year long project I undertook when I was 8 years old. Inspired by our family trip to the Kennedy Space Center, I decided to write a story about friends living on Mars. Seeing the story’s potential, I worked towards fleshing out a whole chapter book.

The book centres around the 4 Aces (Akash, Arun, Arnav and Akshay), best of friends who reside on an overcrowded Earth. As technology advances, mankind is able to reach Mars and eventually Saturn. The story is about how their friendship is tested as they navigate life on the two planets.

It was especially fascinating for me to brainstorm and detail possible solutions for transport, oxygen, gravity, etc on these planets. I had to do lots of research and estimates/calculations to try to bring a season of “realism” to the story.

When I was 13, the book got published by Readomania. Here is the Amazon link.

Tiger Global Case Competition 2021

In 2021, I worked in a team of 4 as a consultant to 2 M&A case studies for technology companies. It was my first time creating financial models, analysing balance sheets and putting together a detailed presentation deck.

The Regional Case was on a semiconductor manufacturer, Renesas Electronics. We analysed their business using materials provided to us and found issues that needed to be solved. Placing 2nd in the Regional Case we qualified for the Global Case, wherein we analysed Arbe Robotics, a radar company.

We presented to Tiger Global (a global VC fund) executives, professional McKinsey consultants and the client company’s executives.

It was a massive learning experience as I explored areas that I never had before. I am extremely proud of our final presentations. Deck for Renesas and Arbe.

Drums

I have been playing the drums since I was 8 years old. It has been my means of stress release!

I have completed Rockschool certification from Grades 1 to 7. Lately, I have been jamming to Bollywood music!
